Elevating Staff @ Work – Boosting Effectiveness, Well-being, and Team Synergy
This energising and interactive one-day course empowers staff with the practical tools and mindset needed to thrive at work. Participants will explore strategies to improve their personal effectiveness, strengthen mental well-being, foster collaboration, and grow professionally – all while contributing to a positive and productive workplace culture.
Objective
By the end of the workshop , participants will be able to:
- Identify their personal strengths and weaknesses through a self-awareness exercise
- Self-motivate so that they can thrive at work and adopt an attitude of continual growth
- Cultivate emotional and mental well being by learning stress management techniques
- Appreciate the importance of empathy, collaboration and communication at work
- Contribute positively to workplace morale and team spirit
Outline
- Introduction and overview of the programme by trainer
- Self-awareness exercise – Participants to identify their beliefs about themselves and their stake holders, their values and rules that they live by
- Video presentation with case studies covering elements of self-awareness
Tea Break
- How beliefs, values and rules that we live by, affect our interaction with others
- Self-motivation questionnaire followed by discussion on how to overcome challenges
- Video presentation with case studies on self-motivation and overcoming obstacles
- How to identify symptoms of mental, emotional and physical stress at work
- Group discussion on aspects of work that contribute to stress (Summary by trainer)
Lunch
- Stress relief techniques involving the mind, body and soul approach.
- Positive thinking – The way we think affects the way we feel (Case studies)
- Overcoming negative thoughts and emotions like fear, disappointment, anger
- How we can manage our stress through exercise, healthy diet and sleep
- Video presentation on techniques for managing stress and achieving well being
Tea Break
- Empathy and how it contributes to a positive relationship with others
- Types of empathy and how to apply it at work and in social interactions
- The ‘Whale Done’ approach to collaboration and communication at work -Video
- Principals of Whale Done – Praise, Share positive feelings, Redirect anger, Earn trust
- Reflection exercise – How can each individual contribute to a positive work environment

Profile of James Suresh

He is an accredited PR practitioner, a certified FISH trainer as well as an EQ Trainer with Six Seconds Inc (USA) an NLP practitioner, a certified teacher with NIE and MOE registered instructor and certified teacher with a certificate in education.
